Privacy Policy

Charthawk ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

What we collect
When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you choose, a display name and profile photo. When you upload a chart image it is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis and stored in your Charthawk account so you can revisit it later. We do not sell your data.

How we use your data
Your chart images and analyses are stored solely to provide the history feature. We use your email only to authenticate your account and, if you opt in, to send product updates.

Third-party services
Chart images and questions are processed by Anthropic (AI analysis). Authentication and database storage are handled by Supabase. Both operate under their own privacy policies.

Data retention & deletion
You can delete individual chart analyses at any time from the sidebar. To delete your account and all associated data, use the feedback button and request account deletion — we will remove your data within 30 days.

Charthawk lets you upload any chart image and get an AI-powered audit — detecting misleading design choices, flagging truncated axes, cherry-picked date ranges, and distorted scales, and telling you what the data actually shows.

What happens to your uploaded images
Images you upload are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. They are also stored in your Charthawk account so you can revisit previous analyses. By using Charthawk you agree to Anthropic's usage policies.

Data storage
Your charts and conversation history are stored in a database linked to your Google account. Only you can access your data. We use Supabase for data storage.

Deleting your data
You can delete individual charts at any time using the Delete option in the sidebar. To delete your account and all data, use the feedback button and request account deletion. We will remove your data within 30 days.

No warranties
Charthawk is provided as-is. AI audits may contain errors. Always apply your own judgment. Charthawk is a tool to support critical thinking, not replace it.

How Charthawk Works

Upload any chart image and get an instant plain-English explanation.

1. Upload a chart

Drag and drop or click to upload a PNG, JPG, or GIF. Works with bar charts, line graphs, scatter plots, heatmaps, pie charts, histograms — any chart image.

2. Get an AI-powered analysis

Your chart is sent to Anthropic's Claude, which explains what the chart shows, identifies key trends, and flags common misreadings — in plain English.

3. Ask follow-up questions

Not satisfied? Ask follow-up questions in the chat. Claude remembers the chart and your conversation so you can dig deeper.

4. Your history is saved

Sign in to save your analyses across sessions and devices. Revisit, rename, star, or delete any past analysis.
